"Preservation"
Mr Gutierrez, good morning and thank you for receiving us in your premises in Lyon.
You produce and commercialize "Preservation." Could you briefly introduce your product?
"Preservation" is a food substance that enables more efficient mechanisms for the protection and repair of body under physical heat or chemical assault.
In the case of diving activities, "Preservation" will, therefore, reduce fatigue and stress associated with this practice and promote physical recovery.
How did you get the idea of this product? And what is diving for you?
In 1995, as part of my professional activities, we were collecting 5 to 10 tons per year of Padina. The pickup can only be done in a very short periods and divers who work intensely felt in great fatigue. Specialists in the field will remember that oxygen accumulates in the tissues and that biological analysis of this situation shows that HSPs (Heat Shock Proteins) are involved in this phenomenon.
Notwithstanding these observations, I noticed that the prickly pears (Opuntia ficus indica) were the only fruit in hot regions that grew directly in the sun from May to September without deteriorate or cooking. Thus, while the temperatures experienced by the fruits were colossal, the fruit had a very powerful protection against heat. It was a major oxidative stress. It remained to be seen whether the messengers of this mechanism were active in humans.
In fact, the universality of this mechanism of HSPs allows the molecules involved in this plant mechanism to be active in humans and, indeed, in all living beings with a circulation system: plants, animals from crustaceans to mammals, birds, insects or fish.
We have, therefore, established a protocol to exploit the manufacturing activity of the plant and "Preservation" was born, initially to meet our own needs while diving before addressing larger population.
To answer your second question, diving takes up an important part in my life. I started diving at age 14. I am today a grandfather and I look forward to be able to being able to gather three generations of divers.
My job, which requires extensive travel abroad, has allowed me to dive around the world. My training as a biologist makes me prefer the study of under-water flora.
Is "Preservation" a drug?
No, and we have the certifications necessary to verify it. Although your question is interesting, "Preservation" does not provoke an extraneous reaction in your metabolism and does not expand your faculties in an artificial way. It does not increase your power or your ability. It allows a faster recovery and undeniably eases diving. This relief becomes obvious when you can feel your increased resistance to cold.
